During the rebuilding of the realm after the Age of Silence, a small group of the Lords of the Hawk, led by a Jonjin or hero-lord named Haka Tagura-i, respectfully left the meeting hall of the great House of the Najinakara in Talanta, paid honor to the ancestors of the Hawk Lords, and left the city for Talanai.

Haka Tagura-i, the first Lord of the Tiger, believed the Hawk Lords had lost a great deal of honor, respect, and face in the years spent bowing to the Crown and the Knights of the Banners. He had hoped to convince the elder council of the Lords to reconsider their ties with the government at Sarus. His concerns were firmly dismissed. Therefore, with great affront, Tagura-i vowed to restore honor to the Najin under a new face, the Najintagura.

The Lords of the Tiger still believe in the balance of body, mind, and spirit but emphasize the swift and strong strike. For the Tiger Lords, their brother Hawks spend too much time aloft in their words. For the Tiger Lords, such time should be spent in action.

The Lords of the Tiger are still bound by the tenets of Tannan Aki-o's "Warrior's Hand" (see Lord of the Hawk) and strive to embody all that it means to be a warrior and an honorable lord. The Tiger Lords grant a modest respect to their kin Hawk Lords and obey the authority of the Lord Sovereign of Talanth. However, unlike the Hawks, the Lords of the Tiger have no easy love for the Sar but pay allegiance to the Crown only because of the will of their homeland. In addition, the Lords of the Tiger find an even poorer view of the Knights of the Banner rekindling the antagonism once felt between the two organizations. Until a Banner Knight has proven to have true honor and not just a list of words, a najintagura will take every opportunity to win face over a knight.

A player who wishes to become a Najin, or Lord, must petition and meet the following requirements (calculated for Rule of Arms):
